‘If Trump can…’: Asaduddin Owaisi’s fiery demand for PM Modi, wants Maduro-like capture of 26/11 mastermind Masood Azhar. Watch video
Referring to the US military operation in Venezuela, Owaisi said Trump’s captured Maduro and taken him to the United States. Drawing a direct comparison, he questioned why India had failed to act against those accused of plotting the terror attacks.
“Today we heard that US President Donald Trump’s forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and took him from his country to America. If US President Donald Trump can abduct Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from his own country, then you (Prime Minister Modi) can also go to Pakistan and bring back the mastermind of the 26/11 terrorist attacks to India,” he was heard saying in a video posted by news agency ANI.
Asaduddin Owaisi’s message to PM Modi
If Trump can capture and bring Maduro to the US from his own country, Owaisi said India too should bring back Masood Azhar and other Lashkar-E-Taiba members who were perpetrators of the November 2008 attacks, in which at least 170 people died. Owaisi was referring to a US military raid in Venezuela’s capital Caracas, where Maduro was captured and brought to the US to face criminal charges for his alleged role in a narco-terrorism conspiracy. He also referred to Saudi Arabia’s attacks on separatist camps in Yemen, which brought the country at loggerheads with former ally UAE.

“We are telling you, Modiji, why can’t you send troops to Pakistan and bring back the masterminds of the 26/11 terrorist attacks to India, whether it’s Masood Azhar or a cruel devil from Lashkar-e-Taiba,” he said.
Continuing his swipe at PM Modi, Owaisi said, “If Trump can, Modi ji, you are no less. If Trump can, then you will also have to do it,” recalling PM Modi’s earlier remark, “Abki Baar Trump Sarkar”.
His remarks came after US carried out a large-scale strike on Venezuela on Saturday and captured Maduro and his wife, and removed from the country. The pair have been indicted on drug charges in New York. President Donald Trump said the US is going to “run” Venezuela “until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition”. “We’re going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition,” he said.ALSO READ: Who is Kim Ju-Ae and why has her first public visit to North Korea’s Kumsusan mausoleum sparked buzz? All about 26/11 terror attack
The 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks began on November 26, 2008, when 10 terrorists from the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out 12 coordinated attacks across Mumbai. The attacks killed at least 170 people and injured more than 300, making it one of the deadliest terror strikes in India. The 26/11 Mumbai terror attack has long been a point of political conflict between the NDA and the Congress, which was in power at the time. The BJP has repeatedly accused the Congress of taking a soft approach towards Pakistan after the attacks.
In September 2025, senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram said that India was prepared to retaliate against Pakistan following the 26/11 attacks but chose not to do so due to pressure from the international community. He said then prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had discussed possible retaliation even as the attacks were unfolding. However, the UPA government was advised by the foreign ministry and diplomats not to respond with military action.
